Strategic Planning Template Development for Fortune 500 Company

 

Assisted senior IT leadership team with the development of a Strategic IT Planning Template for a global manufacturer. Objective of template was to identify and document alignment between business strategy and existing and future IT initiatives. In addition, it was desired that template represent a first step to a larger, more holistic approach to IT strategic planning. As a result, template utilized both IT Governance (COBIT 4.0) and IT Service Management (ITIL) principles as its underpinning foundation. Introductory data collection process, instruction guide and presentation template were developed in conjunction with identified senior IT leadership team members. Participated in web-based presentation to the world-wide IT leadership team during rollout of strategic planning template. Engagement was conducted over a two (2) week period by a project team of two.



Process Documentation & ITSM Assessment Group for INC 500 Company

 

Conducted a detailed Process Documentation and ITSM Assessment engagement for mid-market medical group. IT organization supports thousands of patients, physicians and users throughout nine healthcare facilities. Engagement involved in-depth interviews and observations of all IT operations for the purpose of documenting and assessing existing operational procedures. Operating processes and procedures were documented in standards-based process models and within policy and procedure documents. Findings were then mapped against ITSM best practices and assessed. Findings and recommendations were compiled into assessment report and presented to client. Engagement was conducted over a period of three (3) months by a project team of three.

 



ITSM Maturity Assessment for Fortune 500 Company

 

Conducted full ITSM Assessment for Ohio-based commercial roll material manufacturer with over 1B in annual revenues. Assessment was conducted in support of a strategic alignment exercise that required greater focus on operational efficiency. IT organization responsible for supporting in excess of 1000 users in multiple countries. Assessment included the development of process models and in-depth interviews focused on the 11 ITIL process areas. Primary focus was on Change Management, Release Management, Configuration Management and processes governing the interaction and hand-off between IT and various outsourced organizations. Findings were mapped against ITSM best practices and analyzed to determine both optimum ITIL maturity levels as well as current maturity level and near-term opportunities. As part of the analysis, gaps between current and best practices were identified, as well as the relative impact of their resolution. Recommended mitigation actions were then developed and were organized and prioritized into a Maturity Improvement Roadmap. These findings, maturity assessment and recommendations were compiled into a written report and the findings were presented to the IT management team for action. Engagement was conducted over a two (2) month period by a project team of three.
